If so, you’re not alone. In a recent survey, 86% of women claim they’re often exhausted, even after a good night’s sleep. How is that possible? It could be something called “Tired All The Time” Syndrome. It even affects people who are exercising, eating right, and getting plenty of rest. So, here’s how you can stop sapping your strength, straight from the experts at Conde Nast publications.

  • If you slump at your desk all day, your muscles and joints are using tons of energy to keep you upright. Instead, sit up straight and use your spine. If you need a quick fix, stand up, shake your legs and stretch every few hours. That’ll help pump oxygen to your brain.
  • You could also be allergic to the chemicals in your environment. Like the ones in copiers, fax machines and computers. Don’t forget all those home products, like scented candles, soaps, creams, cleaning products and air fresheners.  So, what can you do? Leave your windows open as much as possible, especially when you sleep and consider getting an air filter for your home.
  • Another strength sapper is staring at a computer screen all day. It can cause eye strain, dry eyes and headaches. What’s the solution? Take a screen break at least  two minutes every hour. Also, twice a day, raise the moisture level in your eyes. For five minutes, every time you blink, keep your eyes closed for one second
  • If you’re always exhausted, think about what’s been going on in your life lately. If your daughter just got married, or you moved recently, you could be suffering from something called “stress hangover.” It can take up to eight weeks to get back to your normal, energetic self. So, be patient. However, if you’ve been chronically tired for more than three months, go see your doctor.
